About Us
Get To Know Us
At Ruby Hill Equine Centre, we are dedicated to fostering a deep connection between riders and horses, rooted in respect, understanding, and a commitment to education. Founded and led by Donna Ind, an accomplished horsewoman with 50 years in breeding, training, and riding and 30 years in instruction, our centre is a home for riders and horses alike. Each member of our team brings years of experience and dedication, with our junior instructors growing up through the school and excelling in their own paths while remaining integral members of our “horse family.”
We believe that horses deserve the best opportunities to thrive, which is why we prioritise effective communication and humane training practices. Our approach is inspired by industry leaders in equine behaviour and training, such as Parelli, Dr Andrew McLean, and Monty Roberts, the renowned horse whisperer. By combining these methods with recognised EA guidelines and practices, we ensure our horses are happy, healthy, and responsive partners in every lesson.
Our programmes cater to riders of all ages and skill levels, and we take special pride in supporting nervous riders who may have had challenging experiences in the past. With a step-by-step approach, we offer safe, supportive environments—starting in the yard and moving gradually to larger areas as confidence builds.
“True horsemanship is built on trust, patience, and respect. When we listen to our horses, they teach us more than we could ever teach them.”
